Watercolor Paintings in Layers

Watercolor landscapes overlap in a loose spread of woodland scenes, misty conifers and small cottages. White paper borders cut across muted greens, ochres, browns and blue-grays.

• Angled paper edges and contrasting paintings provide recognizable sections.
• Pale paper and soft washes offer fewer local clues where several sheets share similar tones.
