The Fishermen (Fantastic Scene),ca. 1875

Families and seated boatmen gather along a grassy river in a broadly brushed painting. A towering white sail fills the right foreground, balanced by strolling figures, leafy trees and smaller boats across the green and blue riverside landscape.
