The Industrial Gallery

An early photograph looks across the Industrial Gallery’s glass display cases, upper walkways and sweeping iron arches. Skylights brighten the high roof, while ornate railings, hanging lights and a staircase create layers of black-and-white detail through the museum interior.

• The staircase, roof arches and rows of cases change size and spacing as they recede.
• Repeated railings and display cases share fine details, and much of the image uses similar gray tones.
