Two Lovers Kissing in a Rose Garden
Two lovers lean together for a kiss amid roses, patterned clothing and a lattice of hearts. Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s black-and-white etching fills the scene with fine lines, contrasting the pale flowing cloak with darker sleeves, hair and densely worked fabric.
- The faces, pale cloak and dark clothing form distinct large areas.
- Fine hatching and repeated hearts create many similar black-and-white fragments.
